I have been meaning to shoot this scene for a while. The full scene includes London's 'Millenium Dome' off to the left. The idea was to shoot the Dome, the scrap heap and the Dockland skyline, all in one shot, to show how progress can leave a trail of waste behind. To shoot this i had to park on a fairly busy road and stand out in the open, the very reason i have not shot this sooner. For some reason, today i got the nerve to stop. Maybe it's just me, but all that scrap focuses my mind on the true cost of progress. - [Chuks]
wow, this is art and should be treasured by viewers.I mean it, my interpretation is slightly different but is close to the photographer's thinking. OBIOMA @ Saturday 8 July 2006
Some will call it progress I guess but you have to wonder about the cost. Dude @ Saturday 8 July 2006
hmmm, makes you stop and think for a while... Great shot. The white sky gives it all a clinical, unpersonal look. What I try to say is that 'progress' sweeps away (most of the time) a lot of, personality. Does'nt make me happy.... :-( javga @ Sunday 9 July 2006
interesting shot...tells a story...well done Brandon Crain @ Tuesday 11 July 2006
Its certainly a thought provoking concept. Spot-on observation. I have to admit I always look at the beauty of Canary wharf and miss out the junk sitting right beside it. I guess too often we see just what we want to see. Chichi @ Tuesday 11 July 2006
A very ironic shot. The banking names at the background overlooking the whole project of progress should feel ashamed. Ioannis @ Thursday 20 July 2006
